Middle Tennessee State University’s History Department offers one of the nation’s leading graduate programs in Public History.

To strengthen the Public History program, a Digital History curriculum was introduced in 2008. For nearly the past twenty years, there have been three different focuses for the program-

•Documentary Film (2008-2010)

•Digital Storytelling and Oral History (2011-2018)

•Digital Mapping and Animation (2016-2021)

The goal for the current Digital History Program is to ensure that highly skilled public historians graduate prepared for careers in education, cultural resource management, historic preservation, museums, government, and non-profit.
