‘The Superdome synthetic grass
baseball-football playing field rolls back to
expose an all-purpose floor suitable for giant
conventions, trade shows, mass audience
entertainment . . . almost any event ever
staged indoors or outdoors.

Underneath the Houston's Astrodome’s
synthetic turf is a dirt surface, not suited for
general entertainment events. The Astrodome
was orginally designed to include a natural
grass turf.

Houston's Astrodome; a separate building
(Astrohall) accommodates convention meetings
and trade shows.

Because of theatrical lighting many
entertainment events of international calibre
can be adapted to the Louisiana Superdome’s
new dimension of size for mass audiences at
mass admission prices. For example, 60,000
spectators at $1 for some events and
substantial revenues from parking, concessions,
and advertising . . . instead of 10,000 at $6.
