W. R. Lamberson, an old resident of Blossom, died at his home at 11:20 o'clock last Thursday night after a long illness. He was born April 21, 1841, in Smith County, Tenn. and was an ex-Confederate soldier, having served in the 7th Tennessee regiment under Capt. Dowell. He married Miss Amanda Ellen Pelchard (sic) in 1867 and came to Texas in 1881. He located at Blossom two years after moving to this state and spent the rest of his life as a citizen of Lamar County. He is survived by his wife and the following children; R. D. Lamberson, Sepulpa, Ok.; W. E. Lamberson, Newkirk, Or.; Mrs. J. A. Thompson, Dallas; Mrs. J. D Dickey, Mrs. Callie Mabry and Mrs. A. R. Moore of Blossom. He was a consistent Christian and a member of the Methodist church, and was loved and honored by every man and child in the town.
